Solace is a video game prototype produced during my 3rd year at university, developed in six months by a team consisting of myself and nine others. The prototype was a response to a brief provided by The Secret Experiment, developers of upcoming game Beckett, requesting a narrative-driven experience that explored the essence of a single room. I served as lead designer and writer on the project, while also producing the game's UI and assisting in the production of 2D and 3D art assets.

The game tells the tale of a man's attempts to uncover the events surrounding the tragic disappearance of his young daughter. Players explore multiple surreal iterations of the protagonist's living room to reveal the truth surrounding his daughter's disappearance, through the inspection of in-game documents and hidden, 'repressed' objects, identifiable only by the shadows they cast from the player's torch.
